Kevin Czaicki is the Vice President of Broadband Solutions at Millennium, a role that was created to position Millennium optimally in the industry. He works towards not only educating our employees but also our clients about succeeding in this sector. Millennium is primarily a distribution company, supplying materials to broadband providers. Millennium has also introduced renting and leasing options for those who may not have the capital for necessary equipment. A few years ago, Millennium added our Geospatial team to assist clients needing data-driven engineering and design services. Lastly, they established the Millennium Infrastructure Fund to lend money to providers.
Q: What is the biggest trend that the broadband market has been facing over the last year?
A: The most prominent trend is bandwidth utilization and expansion. During the COVID pandemic, the government significantly increased investment in the industry, providing guidelines for more bandwidth per home. Currently, funding programs aim to achieve a minimum of 100 Mbps per home with a roadmap to a one-gig solution.
“Citylitics has been invaluable, especially with the implementation of the American Recovery Act. The Act led to funds being distributed at the county level, and Citylitics helped us understand the funding programs at this level across states. We gained insight into not only county-level information but also crucial contact information and LinkedIn profiles. This has empowered our team to better service our clients.” Kevin Czaicki, VP, Broadband Solutions, Millennium
Q: Are there any other specific features or aspects of Citylitics that you find most helpful or compelling?
A: I appreciate Citylitics’ willingness to work with us to devise different solutions. They’ve helped us gather state and client-specific information and organized it into an easily navigable dashboard. This allows our sales organization to digest all the information and better understand our clients and the states we service.
Q: How does Citylitics compare to other solutions that you’ve used in the past or that you’re currently using alongside it?
A: The key difference between Citylitics and other solutions is the depth of research. Citylitics gathers a significant amount of information quickly, including details of public meetings, people involved, and their contact information. This would take a single person a considerable amount of time to gather, whereas Citylitics does this efficiently.
Q: What are you most excited about within the broadband market over the next two years?
A: The planned injection of over $52 billion into the industry by the federal government is incredibly exciting. The challenges and opportunities this will create are immense. I see a light at the end of the tunnel where not just bigger companies, but smaller ones, will have access to people across the United States and its surrounding territories. This will open doors for companies we can’t even imagine right now, leading to an array of new services and businesses.
